The first three gigs Alex and I played went well and I feel I’m singing what I’m meant to be singing…but I threw us into the deep end so there was an element of winging it (every experience is valid in music though).

This thursday we played a gig at Heroes Bar in camden, we brought out a great crowd and the place was packed. The room was silent from about halfway through the first song. The room was mine and the feedback and response to the songs we’ve written in the last four months made me really remember the thrill I get from performing. A thrill which is at the same time completely serene, when I’m singing I want everyone to be a part of it, but to an extent I’m in my own world, only aware of having to keep in time and tune with Alex. But he pretty much takes care of that for me.

We’ve got gigs lined up pretty much every fortnight between now and the summer and are planning the recording of an album. I’ll be at King’s College London next year studying french but I won’t be going ANYWHERE. I’m here to stay. Sorry but I’ll sing at you until you shut up and listen.

It’s funny but the start of the new year seems to have kick started everything in my life! I have found a brilliant new guitarist, Alex Broadie, and we’re starting to gig this Sunday at the Good Ship on the Kilburn High Road!

It’s going to be a great acoustic set so I hope everyone will come and see it.

We did some recordings a few days ago which are on the site, these two are covers but I love the songs so much. I can’t wait to try out some of the original material I’ve written with Charlie Mole and hopefully Alex and I will write some great songs too.

I’ve finally worked out how to update my website!! so I hope to start blogging all my wonderful nuggets of wisdom and any invaluable thought that pops into my somewhat idle brain.

I am currently studying singing at the ICMP (institute of contemporary music performance). I love it. It’s amazing to be surrounded by people who love what I love: singing. I have so many ideas for songs, an album is starting to form. It won’t be about my mother. Although I think of her every day and miss her every day, it’s time for me to start singing about my experiences in the (almost) 2 years since she died.

I’m hoping to get an accoustic set together with a guitarist at college so, fingers crossed, I’ll actually be doing some live gigs.

I’m sorry I’ve been so inactive, the lull after releasing ‘Say It’s Possible’ was mind numbingly dull but it had to be endured to the A levels…I got A*AA in the end.

Signing out now…I have an LPW to learn (live performance workshop)

PS. Debbie Fun raised its charity target and more, we will have raised £1 million by the end of the year. I’m so so proud of what we’ve achieved, I’m going to nominate my dad for an honour for all he’s done. He is a truly remarkable human being.

Sarah is away all this week doing university interviews but on Monday the single was launched with the LIVE WEBCAST which went really well and you can still see by logging onto the Webcast page here. It’s 45 minutes including 4 songs (and one repeated for encore) with Sarah performing with a live band for the first time.

This is the second toughest week for single sales of the year ( next week’s the toughest) so please go out and buy the single if you haven’t already. All proceeds from the single go to Debbie Fund

A little bit frustrated that we haven’t had many plays on the radio so far, especially as we have enrolled some promotions people to do that for us. I sent an email to find out what they were up to? I’ve done quite a few interviews on local radio but it’s really Radio 1 and 2 and Capital that would have real impact. If I hear “it’s a bad time of year” from anyone else, I’ll scream, I might not be established yet but everyone starts somewhere if the professionals can’t do it, time for everyone to start emailing their favourite radio DJ.

Hopefully something will come up though, Aled Jones does a great show on Sunday morning I’d love to go on or maybe Jo Wiley will give it a play – we gave her one of the CDs at Paolo’s Little Noise Session and she seemed keen.

Fingers crossed and it appears that lots of CD Singles have been ordered for shops, so no excuses not to buy it.
